A leading international steel trading company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Steel Trader specialising in Strip Mill and Coil Products for the automotive, white goods and engineering markets. Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute trading strategies to maximise profitability and market share for strip mill and coil products.
• Identify and analyze market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and pricing factors to make informed trading decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers and customers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply chain.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and customers, while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels and minimize financial risk.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of trades and timely delivery of products.
• Stay updated with industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging market trends to identify new business opportunities.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building long-lasting relationships with clients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field. Additional certifications or qualifications in steel trading would be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Steel Trader, with a strong focus on strip mill and coil products.
• Proven track record of successfully executing trades and achieving sales targets in the steel industry.
• In-depth knowledge of international steel markets, pricing mechanisms, and supply chain dynamics related to strip mill and coil products.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate market data and make informed trading decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Proficiency in using trading platforms, market analysis tools, and MS Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
