Business Development Manager             South East/London           

£40k basic dependant on experience + commission + car + benefits

My client is a leading waste resource services provider who have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to work across London / South East / South and drive sales in this region.

The purpose of the role is to support the business in its track record of spotting opportunities, understanding the market and driving innovative solutions to deliver customers with a reliable service that helps them to reduce their impact on the environment. 

Some of your responsibilities will be but not limited to;

  • Using the Sales and Marketing strategy to identify, target and sell the services to businesses within the Southeast, to achieve annual revenue/spend target and objectives; Sign new contracted business with the aim of developing and growing the portfolio of larger business accounts; Sell services that fit the businesses ability to deliver and manage customer's expectations, whilst delivering a one-stop-shop/total waste management ethos; Be the primary interface between the business and its target customers; Be responsible for your sales prospecting, pricing negotiations and customer contracts. Respond in a timely manner to all leads and introductions through the business lead portals; Agree key target customers and contact strategy with Sales Director on a regular basis, to ensure they match the overall team goals; Liaise with Sales Director and Operations to understand the services and solutions deliverable in their core territory; Consult with Sales Director and BDM colleagues regarding proposals for larger customers, especially where they require detailed Total Waste Management Solutions; Promote their Total Waste Management Services, including but not limited to, Wheelie Bins (General Trade Waste, Recycling, Cardboard and Paper), REL's, Skips, Roro's, Secure Shredding, Food Services, Glass Services, Hazardous Waste, Clinical Waste and Tankering; Attend regular sales meetings, to review prospect activity, solutions and result; Carry out full waste management audits for targeted customers to supply a comprehensive Waste Solution / Proposal and recommendations; Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have/be;

  • Experience selling services in the Waste industry; Previous experience of working to demanding deadlines; Experience of using a CRM system; Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Proficient in the use of CRM systems; Proactive, innovative and dynamic; Self-motivated with the ability to work independently if required.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential to this position.
