We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Gloucester. Your role will be to promote the brand and product portfolio with emphasis on gaining market share with the building services sector in supplying heat pumps to varying channels. You will also liaise on a regular basis with an agreed list of key main and sub-contractors that would be a target for the offsite build solution. This role will cover the whole of the UK. You should expect to be on the road 2-3 times per week.

Principal Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Increase market awareness on supplying heat pumps solutions.
  • Create a healthy pipeline of opportunities
  • Present and work through designs to meet customers requirements, touch base with all key stakeholders
  • Ensure output delivering EPIC service to internal and external customer
  • Contact key influencers as required such as consultants.
  • Work with other departments as needed to ensure the product meets the key requirements of the Company.
  • Develop strategies to reach sales goals
  • Build and manage offsite sales pipeline for specified customers
  • Create a monthly orders forecast
  • Contact potential customers and make sales pitches
  • Develop relationships with top customers
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas
  • Collaborate with key internal departments as necessary


  • Experience working for an engineering biased manufacturing company is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High degree of personal motivation
  • Commercial acumen and comfortable with numbers
  • Ability to work as part of a team supporting both the operational team and peer group
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Flexibility with regard to working across all areas of the business and hours to meet the requirements of this challenging position
  • Willing and able to take responsibility
  • Manage numerous activities across a number of projects simultaneously
  • Full driving licence
