My Buckinghamshire based client has been successfully trading since the 1970’s and is a medium sized cleaning company currently operating in a large area across the country including the counties of Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Greater Manchester, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Suffolk. They provide daily cleaning, window cleaning and a broad range of other specialist cleaning services They are a vibrant, ambitious and forward-thinking company and they have grown five-fold in the last 8 years. Their current turnover is £11.5m. To continue this impressive growth, I am currently working in collaboration with them to find an industry experienced (contract cleaning) sales professional (Business Development Manager) who shares the company’s vision and values and has a passion for sales to sell the company’s range of services. 

The purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to pursue and win business in the in the Greater Manchester/North West area, ideally targeting £50k+ annual value contracts the in educational, medical and daily office cleaning sectors amongst others. The annual sales for this role will be £800k turnover in year one. Currently the company work on tenders as well as website enquiries, cold calls and LinkedIn contacts. They are on the YPO Cleaning Framework and also the CCS Framework for healthcare opportunities.

Candidate requirements

  • Live within the Greater Manchester/North West area.  
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanour.
  • Hold a clean UK driving license
  • Have a full working knowledge of tenders and outbound sales process.
  • For this role you should a stable career history, with at least two years’ experience of selling commercial cleaning contracts, with a proven track record of winning new business.
  • Possess the drive and ability to undertake the full sales process from lead generation, through site survey, financial metrics, proposal creation, to obtaining the contract signature.

Equipment provided for this Business Development Manager role includes a car and fuel, a phone and laptop

Basic salary £35k plus commission and bonus, expected earnings approximately £45k-£60k, 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and NEST pension
