We are looking for a motivated and experienced Internal Sales Team Leader to join our team and help us continue our growth trajectory.
Job Summary
The Internal Sales Team Leader will play a pivotal role in growing, leading and managing the internal sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, coaching and mentoring team members, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.
The role will be a ‘player coach’ in the short term and will predominately be in a ‘doing’ role whilst we look to scale the sales team of which the team leader will be crucial in helping us source and onboard. The team will lead on all aspects of the sales process from lead to customer
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard, develop and nurture a results oriented internal sales team
- Lead and Manage Sales Team: Oversee the daily activities of the internal sales team whilst leading by example and contributing to the team result, providing guidance and support to ensure team members meet their individual and collective sales goals and ensuring all income generation and related activities embed the organisations culture, vision and values.
- Contribute to the KPI’s and revenue goals by making outbound calls to our target market
- Develop Sales Strategies: Create and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand the customer base.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management and making data-driven decisions to improve sales processes.
- Team Development: Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to align sales strategies with overall company objectives.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors, providing insights and recommendations to the sales team and management.
- Administrative Duties: Manage sales team schedules, prepare sales forecasts, and maintain accurate records of sales activities and transactions.
- Lead on developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential income generation opportunities. This will include prospect research, identifying and assessing viability of income generation opportunities, aligning to our strategic objectives.
- Manage and cultivate strong relationships with new and existing stakeholders, clients, and suppliers to ensure value for money and maximise social impact.
Requirements
- Experience: An experienced sales professional with a proven track record of success in a high-pressured business development environment.
- Experience of measuring success and reporting on progress against targets set to Senior Leadership Teams.
- Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Education: Degree in Business or Marketing (Desirable not essential)
Skills
Strong leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated track record.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Ability to analyse sales data and make strategic decisions.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to understand, demonstrate and apply organisational values.
