Our client is an export focused Irish-based company specialising in processing, sales and distribution of marine algae products into the animal nutrition market. The company has an established and growing business in this sector particularly into global markets with exports into over 40 countries.
Opportunity:
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Territory Manager to join our client’s team, working closely with existing distributors to maintain and develop the market while creating and nurturing new business relationships with key accounts across Ireland, UK, Spain, Italy and France. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of proven animal nutrition sales experience and fluency in English, with proficiency in Spanish or Italian being highly desirable. Proficiency in French is also of interest.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve territory revenue and margin targets.
- Develop new business by acquiring new end customers.
- Collaborate with partners to meet annual forecasted targets.
- Provide training and technical support to partners in the region, emphasizing the benefits and applications of our client’s sodium bicarbonate products and blends.
- Conduct in-market dual calling to meet sales forecasts.
- Grow and manage a sales pipeline through the CRM system.
- Document and execute a Territory business plan to support the annual forecast by partner.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with partners and customers.
- Deliver accurate quarterly forecasts based on partner/customer reviews.
- Develop new business relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Present the technical and applied benefits of the company's product offerings to partners and key accounts.
- Maintain and enhance marketing and technical competencies in company products and competitors' offerings.
- Process sales orders efficiently through internal corporate procedures.
- Perform field sales activities and manage the assigned territory to exceed sales and profit budgets.
- Monitor and report on competitors’ products, pricing, and strategies to marketing and sales management.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Nutrition; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5 years of proven sales experience, selling to major key accounts, independent nutritionists, producers, and feed mills in animal nutrition (Experience selling into the sodium bi-carbonate market would be advantageous).
- Comprehensive understanding of animal nutrition and key financial metrics.
- Ability to think theoretically and sell technical nutrition solutions to key accounts.
- Established relationships with major key accounts, nutritionists, producers, feed mills, and distributors.
- Experience using a disciplined sales process and documented CRM program.
- Strong negotiation and business closing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in sales and marketing, with strong presentation skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a European language, such as Spanish or Italian, is preferred, French would be of interest as well.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to sell technical feed additives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, PowerPoint, CRM software, and accurate data entry skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with the confidence to negotiate with independent nutritionists and integrators.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Remuneration:
This role offers a competitive salary of €50-60k plus expenses, including mileage for car use, a 10-15% bonus, and a 5% pension contribution from both employee and employer.
