A well established market leader in technical textiles, our UK headquartered client is an expert in the design and manufacture of high- performance fabrics catering for the demanding applications across a wide and diverse span of industries, including but not limited to: Defence, Automotive, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Food, Medical, Industrial and Filtration.
Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth across the UK and targeted parts of Europe, focusing on developing new business opportunities in the aerospace, automotive, and military sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK and targeted parts of Europe, with a primary focus on the aerospace, automotive, and military sectors. Recognising the timelines for these sectors, there is a requirement to develop a quick- win business strategy.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, targeting key accounts and sectors in line with the company’s growth strategy.
- Drive the entire sales process, from lead generation (in conjunction with Group Marketing) to closing deals, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and revenue growth.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in target sectors, ensuring long-term business partnerships.
- Convert existing relationships into new business.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure client needs are met and that solutions are tailored to client requirements.
Strategic Planning:
- Working with the CCO, develop and execute a strategic business development plan, aligning with the company’s overall objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape, providing insights to inform business strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Chief Technical Office, to align efforts and maximise business opportunities.
Cross-Departmental Liaison:
- This is a Hybrid position (ideally one day per week in the office). The successful candidate will work closely with other departments, including Marketing, Finance, and Operations, to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
Salesforce/CRM System Management:
- Utilise Salesforce to manage and track sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline development.
Ideal Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in business development, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets, particularly in the aerospace, medical, or military sectors.
- High proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM systems and MS Office suite is a must.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team, with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally to Europe/ ROW.
Work Environment:
- This is a Hybrid UK based role, with frequent travel across to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Weekly visits to the UK Head Office for meetings, training, and collaboration.
