We have an excellent opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join our commercial team in the UK. Focusing on the flowers market, you will generate profitable growth together with customers, by implementing strategy and Commercial Policy in the UK sales organization. The territory you will cover will include the midlands and the South West – you should be based within, or near this area.

Syngenta is global leader in sustainable flower production, thanks to our expertise in advanced genetics and breeding like Pelargonium intersp. Calliope (50% market share worldwide) or Pansy Delta (30% market share worldwide). We serve professional growers & distributors with state-of-the-art seeds, young plants and cuttings, expert advice and training. Accountabilities/responsibilities include (but are not limited to);

  • Annual growth and profitability among focus customers within the appointed customer portfolio through active sales and promotion of Syngenta genetics
  • Growth among focus customers in “share of wallet”, sales and profitability based on self-prepared plans
  • Pro-active input in the development and delivery of customer-driven products, services and marketing campaigns
  • Build, enlarge and maintain strong sustainable strategic partnerships with a focus on customers
  • Effective collaboration with Customer Service, Technical Support and other Syngenta functions to maximize value for focus customers (Crop advice, Marketing, Supply Chain and / or others)
  • Ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction with regard to our offer and brand.
  • Assist in build up and attendance at Trade events locally and within Europe
  • Organize and record results, of grower trials in county, of new genetics

 

Qualifications and required experience

  • Solid commercial experience in the horticultural market (B2B environment) with an ability to work closely with and gain an understanding a wide variety of departments within Syngenta.
  • Excellent account management, sales and customer service skills.
  • Good grasp of the external circumstances that influence the organization (developments throughout the chain from breeder to consumer).
  • Ability to anticipate changes in the market and makes proposals to innovate in an evolving environment.
  • Knowledge of the main ornamentals growers in the UK, platforms, substrate or other flower related suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Degree (or equivalent experience), preferably in a commercial and / or horticultural direction.
  • Full UK drivers’ license and flexibility to travel extensively in territory and to various UK/European sites for meetings, events etc.
