Our client is a leader in their field and are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team during an exciting time for the business. The successful candidate will have a critical input into the company’s sales strategies whilst reporting to the Managing Director. The position will be responsible for managing a small department of 13 people. You will have responsibility for new customer and product generation, as well as account management to ensure all customers receive excellence in customer service. A strong commitment to team development and profitable sales growth is important in this successful business.

The role involves working closely with other departments to help maximise the business performance, in particular the Operations and Marketing teams. The business is also in the process of implementing a new ERP and CRM system and so are also looking for a person with good systems experience and adaptability to help the commercial team maximise its benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage a small department of 13 people
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that drive growth
  • Generate new business through inbound and outbound lead generation and conversion at targeted profit margins
  • Manage existing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Ensure customers receive excellence in customer service
  • Work closely with other departments to help maximize business performance
  • Drive adoption and results from new ERP and CRM system implementation.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in similar role.
  • Strong commitment to sales growth.
  • Experience with the joinery trade would be beneficial but not a necessity.
  • Good systems experience and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
