SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials including high temperature refractory and insulating products to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.  

We are currently looking to recruit a Sales Manager to help in the development of new business opportunities within specialist refractory markets and increase business with existing customers. You will also partake in customer visits, site inspections, general office, and sales admin duties. While providing a high level of customer service to all customers and collaborating with colleagues and other branches across the business.  

What does the role involve?
As Sales Manager, you will contribute to the development of a sales strategy for the branch which will provide for long term profitability and work with the Branch Manager to establish a sales plan which reflects the market potential of the branch’s trading area. You will also support the Branch Manager in supplier and contractor negotiations and reviews, seeking and securing supplier and contractor support on individual projects.
The successful candidate will personally manage relationships with some of the key customers, support the relationship between the internal and external sales teams, and identify new sales opportunities and research, introduce and establish new accounts while championing the Company initiatives and Sales agenda.

The successful candidate will require:
•    Refractory knowledge is an advantage.
•    Strong management style with experience of people management.
•    Commercially astute.
•    Able to demonstrate creative flair (sales tactics)
•    Strong communicator, negotiator, and team player.
•    Excellent personal organisation skills.
•    Adept at relationship building with excellent telephone manner.
•    Sales and managing customer expectations.
•    Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus with previous customer service experience.
•    Experience working with Microsoft packages such as word and excel.
