Our Client are one of Europe's largest and most innovative providers of pet nutrition solutions.  They are looking for a highly motivated individual to join their team as National Account Manager (potential Senior National Account Manager for the right candidate).

Location:

Manchester (2-3 days per week), Home Office (remainder)

Role Overview:

The NAM/SNAM role will report directly to the Channel Commercial Director, this role will involve managing key accounts for the business across pet specialty, brands, and online, with a focus on driving service, growth, profitability, and long-term strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business and will play a crucial role in shaping the future business success as this channel continues its growth trajectory ahead of all other channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets with your key customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, service, promotions, and terms of trade to maximise profitability and ensure long-term business success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally to ensure seamless execution of account plans and initiatives.
  • Analyse market data, competitor activity, and commercial insights to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Manage the end-to-end account management process, from forecasting to order management to invoice reconciliation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer inquiries and issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Explore and manage all new business opportunities for the channel, and through cross-functional management, and task prioritisation, ensure new business quotes, samples and testing are returned on time and as requested in order to allow this channel to continue it’s growth trajectory.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, marketing, finance, or related field preferred but not essential.
  • Proven track record of success in national account management or senior national account management, with experience in the FMCG or petfood industry an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage P&L effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers both internally and externally.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willingness to travel as needed (including occasional visits to our 9 European factories and customer locations where required).
