Customer Insight Manager

Fresh people are currently recruiting for a Customer Insight Manager for our client a Fresh produce business based in Kings Hill . In this role you will work with the Commercial Director to provide valuable insights and recommendations to drive business growth and enhance partnerships with our clients retail accounts . Working closely with cross functional teams to develop data driven strategies to improve overall performance

The Person

Suitable candidates will ideally have worked previously in Fresh Produce if not as an Insight Manager then as a Category Manager or Customer Account Manager with a key focus on delivery of sales and volume whilst driving gross profit for our client and their customers . You will be required to devise a strategy to achieve business objectives, utilize sales data , retail metrics to generate actionable insights for product development , pricing strategies and promotional activities ,  working alongside the procurement and technical teams assuming responsibility for the management and development of key customers managing relationships and KPI’s

Key Objectives  

  • Work with procurement to drive trade opportunities which are beneficial for both our client , their growers and customers looking at ways to continually unlock savings through idea generation
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Team to deliver the new and existing product development whilst delivering on packaging and sustainability targets
  • Identify opportunities within your customers, to deliver profitable business growth, where appropriate.
  • Use insight data to propose, justify and identify opportunities for your customers.
  • Drive insights for range reviews to ensure profitable growth alongside retailer outperformance
  • Monitor and evaluate performance on product lines to identify areas for improvement and recommend adjustments to drive sales and profitability
  • Execute weekly & monthly internal sales meetings, providing a full analogy of your customer’s growth/decline.
  • Work with direct reports to keep internal customer SDP updated
  • Provide procurement team with up to date, accurate sales forecasts for your customers, on a weekly basis and 12-week rolling forecast.
  • Ensure continuous development on understanding products and seasonal calendars
  • Achieve customer sales KPI’s, volume, margin (if applicable) and waste targets. Strive for market out performance.
  • Ensure promotional plans are planned in advance (dependent on customer timelines / submission requirements) with customers
  • Plan and deliver regular customer meeting reviews recorded all steps throughout the process
  • Ensure regular KPI updates and product analysis is sent to buyers addressing any issues
  • Retain a good understanding of all retailers and what is going on within the organic market.
  • Be the go to person for all Nielsen, Kantar, IGD and segmentation data
  • Deliver event plans around Fairtrade fortnight and British Tomato Week
  • Facilitate engagement in delivery of Retailer specific community projects
  • Help and support to drive the sustainability agenda.
  • Supporting the weekend rota from home on rotation with the team
