Can you help IGD’s customers understand their problems better and drive our commercial activity?

We are looking for someone to join our senior Customer Leadership Team who fully understands the food and consumer goods market.

About the role

The team sit at the forefront of our commercial engagement, powering commercial success.

The Global Customer Leader will play a key role in driving commercial activity by selling IGD’s capability to some of our most important customers.

You’ll enjoy speaking to customers, helping them to better understand their problems, utilising IGD data and managing a team who support customers to hit their commercial targets.

The responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Sales, these include:

Key account management

You will be managing a small portfolio of our biggest customers across some of the biggest household brands, likely to be manufacturers with a global presence.

This will mean ensuring that these customers get full value from their subscription by creating and delivering engagement activity across their annual account plan.

Looking for opportunities

You’ll drive upgrades to their subscription through additional support and, where appropriate, engage new stakeholders on our other online services.

A key aspect of the role will be Identifying new opportunities for IGD Consulting projects. Working together with our research teams to generate quality leads, proposals and sales.

You will conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings with your key contacts, plus network within the account to build new stakeholders and advocates, across different functions and regions.

Customer service

Operating up to CEO level, with a primary focus on commercial leaders and insight teams, you’ll deliver an excellent customer service, working closely with our support teams, ensuring a swift and effective response to incoming queries and acting as a partner to your key accounts.

You will be overseeing overall engagement with the customer, with a primary focus on commercial activity, providing the business with a continuous stream of insightful customer feedback designed to improve existing services, generating ideas for new ones and monitoring competitive activity.

There will be monthly and annual targets to deliver for sales of our online services and for ensuring a high level of retention, as this will be the primary measure of your success.

What you bring

  • You should have gravitas and a strong interest in the food and consumer goods industry
  • You can demonstrate a proven commercial background, with experience gained from working in the retail/manufacturer/research space
  • You will need leadership and coaching skills to help develop our wider customer facing team

The location

We are operating a hybrid approach to working with a mix of home and office-based working. We are based in a very accessible location within the M25, just 20 miles from central London.
