Our client are a growing technology business with a fantastic product range and great market reputation who seek to appoint a Commercial Manager to coordinate marketing activity to develop leads and manage inbound enquiries, and then project manage those enquiries into bids and proposals that result in new orders. They have a welcoming working culture and offer quick career progression. It is important that you have a manufacturing / engineering background, experience of project management, and good commercial acumen with a keen grasp on margin and contract value.

Commercial Manager - Role and Responsibilities - Sales / Marketing / New Business / Business Development / Account Management / Engineering / Manufacturing / Project Management

* Marketing activity to develop leads (trade shows, exhibitions, marketing literature, etc.)
* Write bids and proposals to turn those leads into orders
* To be a pivotal point of contact for the pre-sale customer, working in close alignment with all supporting departments and functions internally
* Establish and deliver a robust project plan in accordance with the customer to hand over to the project management team once an order has been secured
* Use market knowledge to anticipate change and help the business to adapt and seize commercial opportunities
* Achieving favourable commercial terms on orders

Commercial Manager - Skills and Abilities - Sales / Marketing / New Business / Business Development / Account Management / Engineering / Manufacturing / Project Management

* Strong business acumen, always looking for commercial opportunities, with experience of project management, commercial management and proposal writing
* 5+ years' experience in a similar commercial role at an engineering or manufacturing company
* An engineering qualification
* Have the ability to liaise with all levels of management on a professional level
* Organisational skills are essential as you will be responsible for managing your own workload
* Be prepared to travel and occasionally work unsociable hours to suit the business
