“No, no, no!” said the enraged prospect customer to the persistent salesperson. “I cannot see you today!”

“That’s fine,” said the salesperson, “I’m selling eye glasses.”

Sales can be tough at times, some days it’s the best job in the world – everything you touch turns to gold. Other days - not so good, the only orders you may get are “Get out!” and “Stay out!”.

Thankfully, you know which doors to knock on and most importantly you thrive when it comes to developing relationships with your authentic credibility and ambition to maximise sales performance. Sure, you’ve got the battle scars of working in Sales for a few years – but that’s only instilled your inbuilt resilience and desire to perform at the highest level. Your polished and professional approach lends itself to consultative selling, and your likeability ensures loyalty and a commitment from your dealers and customers.

What’s the main purpose of the job?

You’ll be responsible for driving sales of New and Pre-Owned Medium to Heavy Commercial vehicles across Scotland and Ireland to grow the penetration of the brand and liaise with dealers and customers. Your sales objectives will include market share, volumes and margin, whilst supporting the business targets towards CO2 CNG / LNG optimisation and electrification mission.

Reporting to the Network Sales Manager you’ll be given the autonomy and freedom to plan your diary, negotiate on deals, whilst always knowing the support will be hand as and when needed. You’ll be welcomed into a close-knit team where you know you have each other’s back and you’ll have the opportunity to share insights and experiences through regular get togethers.

What kind of background do you have?

The business sits as a key OEM of Commercial Vehicles and if you have experience within that sector, that would be highly advantageous. What is of paramount importance is having a demonstrable track record of significantly improving sales performance, that could be within passenger vehicles, off highway or construction vehicles to name a few. Whilst the region has a solid foundation it also holds enormous potential for growth, which is where you come in to develop the sales channels and do what you do best.

Why consider a move to this organisation?

They are a business that likes to nurture the ambition that drives you and provide a platform for you to really shine and develop within the organisation. They’re a financially stable, well established, and respected brand. You’ll get the direction, support, and guidance to develop your toolkit from ‘good’ to ‘great’, and with that the possibility to progress into a leadership position. This organisation prides itself on championing good process, driving a “constant improvement” approach to customer interactions, which will no doubt compliment your approach and mindset to what you do every day.
