Personnel Selection is assisting a small engineering company with charity connections for International Aid. We are recruiting a Account / Sales Manager with engineering experience with a view of the role developing to becoming a Director. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate and progression possibilities. Salary is strongly dependant on experience and our client is happy to discuss commission structures. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who would like to effectively build and expand their own business based on the current operation.

This is a small business with an annual turnover of around £800k, based in an industrial unit in Andover, employing 5 people. The company excels in solving customers' pumping issues using extensive technical experience to source and package products that efficiently meet market requirements. The workshop can assemble engine/motor driven pumps on fabricated steel base plates along with control equipment. 

They are looking for a new Sales Manager to account manage two business strands plus also develop an emerging sector of their industry. Our clients products are custom made to the individual client and not an "off the shelf" product, so you will need a technical / engineering mindset to succeed in this role. A plus would be if you as a candidate also had experience dealing with charity or international aid sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand the Diesel and Electric Pump Packaging business.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Provide technical support and solutions to customers.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions.
  • Collect market data and report on customer needs and trends.
  • Coordinate with the technical team to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong technical knowledge of pumping or diesel systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to build and expand the business.
  • Reside within easy commuter distance of Andover.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or training in sales and marketing are a plus but not essential.

Future Opportunities:

  • The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become Managing Director after a period as Sales Director.
