We are recruiting for an experienced Internal Account Manager for our client at their Basildon, Essex site.  They are one of northern Europe’s leading contract manufacturing partners and complete products (electronics).  Their services cover everything from production technical services at an early stage to serial production and advanced after-sales services.  They do require experience in account management ideally within manufacturing/engineering or distribution and with customer service supervisory experience

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with previous account management experience to join their friendly and talented team in Basildon.  Staff supervisory experience is required for this role.   The Internal Account Manager will be responsible for managing a small team of Internal Sales Coordinators, ensuring they receive professional support and guidance.  The Internal Account Manager will also manage their own customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a small team of internal sales coordinators to maintain motivation and foster positive morale
  • Ensuring the customer is kept updated with the latest schedule of their order
  • Engaging with Production Management daily to optimise the efficiency of the production schedule.
  • Leading daily production meetings, and making amendments as required
  • Supplying customers with quotes for recurring orders
  • Responding promptly to customer enquiries and referring to the relevant department if necessary
  • Generating works orders as per the customer’s schedule
  • Running monthly reports, flagging risks and potential financial losses
  • Processing Sales Orders, requesting project information and understanding to facilitate planning and production processes
  • Escalating complaints the relevant department immediately
  • Booking couriers, creating commercial invoices, completing necessary courier paperwork
  • Arranging collection of faulty goods and obtaining tracking information
  • Assessing delivery schedule daily and circulating any concerns/shortages to each relevant department
  • Advising customers of free-issue shortages and rejects
  • Ensure high standards of customer care are maintained during team member absences
  • Daily invoice updates

Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements


  • Experience in a similar client servicing role within manufacturing
  • Experience managing or supervising a small team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior background in customer facing role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a positive attitude
  • Well-presented, polite, and tactful
  • Capacity to remain calm and collected in stressful scenarios
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams


Experience in the use of ERP/MRP systems

This is a site-based role in Basildon, Essex.  Working hours onsite are 08:00 – 16:30 (Monday to Thursday) and 08:00 – 15:30 (Fridays)
