The position of Area Sales Engineer would suit a very strong account management & sales person who is now looking to expand and develop within a more autonomous role. You will be a confident communicator with razor sharp listening skills and the ability to understand the needs of the customer.

We seek an experienced Area Sales Engineer with direct sales and account management experience, ideally within an engineering/scientific or similar bias.

The geographical area covers Runcorn, Macclesfield, Sheffield, Grimsby to the south and up to and including Scotland. You will live with good access to motorways, in order to visit customers up to 4 days per week.

We are looking for somebody who can listen and learn; and understand a problem and then sell a solution. You will be self-sufficient and self-motivated.

As Sales Engineer you will have overall responsibility and ownership of managing key accounts and new accounts.

Supporting distributors and customers in the north of the UK

  • Grow existing customer base and develop new business in the North region
  • Answering technical queries via phone and email
  • Visits to customers to help recommend, specify and introduce adhesives into a production line
  • Complaint support, investigation and troubleshooting
  • Technical training and new product training for distributors
  • Support with manning exhibitions when required
  • Track sales leads, samples and projects, ensure regular feedback from customers / distributors.
  • Keep company CRM database updated with visit reports, projects, opportunities etc.
  • Support new product launches and promotional activities
  • Negotiate and provide pricing and quotations for customers
  • Provide account sales support
  • Liaise with customer services and credit control to help service accounts
  • Maintain and develop relationships with integrators who manufacture equipment such as dispensers, UV lamps, surface preparation equipment.

You will need a proven background in sales and account management, ideally within a chemistry related/engineering or mechanical bias.
