Business Development & Marketing Manager - Leeds or Sheffield 

Morson Talent are dleighted to be working with a Yorkshire based Law Firm who are looking to recruit a Business Development & Marketing Manager to join their internal team. This is a key role as part of the Law Firm delivering strategic support, tactical BD activity and support aligned to the firm’s BD strategy. In this role you will be leading key projects and work areas within the Marketing department while supporting the firm with BD duties on a day-to-day basis.

Areas of work

BD support for fee-earning teams

  • Lead and support the implementation of all related marketing and business development activities for a number of fee-earning teams.
  • Support the creation and implementation business development annual strategies and activities.
  • Monitor ROI of BD activity through investment proposals and marketing expenditure reports.
  • Be the key BD contact for the fee-earning teams, to immerse yourself in their market requirements.

BD&E Team ongoing activities

  • Support the implementation of all related marketing and business development activities.
  • Support head of business development & events to implement strategy in line with firm and departmental business strategies and action plans.
  • Data analytics as required, from programmes such as Google Analytics and Mail Chimp to assess success and outcomes of project work.
  • Build and maintain relevant relationships across the business.

Social media and website

  • Support and implementation of the X and LinkedIn strategies across the firm accounts.
  • Responsible for editing and maintaining content for website across the firm, including preparing content and supporting fee-earning colleagues with content.
  • Responsible for creating, editing and maintaining content for social media across the firm, including preparing content and supporting fee-earning colleagues with content.

Content creation

  • Engage with the planning and facilitation of media content recording and creation.
  • Oversee the integrated media content campaigns.

Tenders

  • Strategically advise on content and tone during tender creation.
  • Implement the Chance of Success Score process during the tender assessment stage.
  • Lead the BD support for fee-earning teams with responses to tender including content creation and pitch rehearsal.
  • Support and encourage creation and management of central tender resources.
  • Researching tender opportunities within suitable markets for relevant fee-earning teams.

External profile

  • Monitor opportunities for press releases and case studies for relevant teams.
  • Coordinate with external resources to design advertisements, in both printed and online publications.
  • Lead the creation of Legal Directory submissions for relevant teams to align with team strategy.

External relationships

  • Direct support for external relationships with third parties for fee-earning teams, for BD purposes when requested.

CRM system

  • Actively engage the fee-earner colleagues in personal data updates from contacts and clients.
  • Ensuring all systems and weekly reports are updated accurately and completed on time.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of using social media platforms, X and LinkedIn.
  • Time Management - experience of managing multiple projects/tasks/prioritisation.
  • Knowledge of the Legal sector is preferred
  • Able to take instruction and work on initiative.
  • Good IT literacy, including an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to produce presentations, spreadsheets, documents etc.
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud is desirable not essential.
  • Experience of Zoom and MS Teams desirable.
  • Experience with CRM systems is desirable.
  • A desire and willingness to learn new systems and technologies when introduced by the firm.
