• A provider of returnable plastic packaging and container solutions to the fish industry, food and FMCG suppliers. Their ‘Complete Package’ includes the rental of the returnable packaging, management of the equipment pool and a hygienic washing service. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team paying £50,000 - £60,000 pa depending on experience.

• Business Development Manager

The Role:

• The role is to identify, prospect, develop and close new business opportunities with a focus on the food and retail sectors.  You will be required to generate sales leads, attend meetings, and provide formal quotations and presentations. You will also be involved in developing a sales strategy for the business alongside the Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prospecting, cold calling, qualifying/identifying new business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers.
• Attend meetings and provide tailored presentations on the services company offer.
• Provide guidance and advice for businesses looking to introduce returnable packaging to their supply chain.
• Following up and keep detailed records of new leads on our CRM system (Salesforce).
• Ensure profitability of new opportunities and provide detailed quotations.
• To work closely with Marketing team to plan campaigns and ensure they are aligned with sales strategy.
• To attend relevant tradeshows and follow up on leads generated.
• Work towards set KPIs and sales strategy objectives.

Experience:

• Good knowledge of the returnable equipment sector.
• To be able to motivate, influence, and work closely with your colleagues.
• Strong, persuasive character, able to negotiate strongly resulting in a positive outcome.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
• Natural self-starter, confident with developing new opportunities from scratch.
• To be able to work well under pressure.

Salary:

• £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience + bonus, car and benefits.
