Business Development Manager (B2B Media) | Leeds | Full-Time | £35,000- £45,000 per annum depending on experience plus realistic OTE of £50,000-£60,000+

We specialise in regional b2b magazines, hosts business events annually and have a growing portfolio of digital products including virtual events, regional websites and daily email newsletters.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong track record already (ideally at least 3-4 years) and be able to demonstrate they have previously increased revenue and their client base
  • Previous experience of working in advertising/ business media is advantageous but not essential as training is given. More importance will be given to the range of relevant experience and past success 
  • Your CV should indicate you have been working with senior-level clients and have had sales training to equip you with the necessary sales techniques and skills in order to win orders
  • Strong motivation and drive to succeed to maximum potential are essential
  • A natural curiosity to hunt for new business opportunities with both new and regular clients
  • Persuasive personality with a hard-headed approach – somebody who is not easily defeated
  • Works well under pressure to hit regular deadlines
  • Attention to detail - good organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and also be a team player when required
  • Ideally you will have used a CRM system before and be used to accurately complete sales documentation and keep systems updated 

What will your role as a Business Development Manager look like?

  • To keep abreast of all company products and services and have an in-depth knowledge of them in order to market and sell effectively
  • Develop a defined Yorkshire territory with a mix of existing clients, and grow the territory with the acquisition of new clients
  • Increase revenues and achieve sales growth by hitting targets and objectives. Achieved by increasing income from existing clients and securing support from new clients through strong consultative sales skills
  • Develop our range of products and services and maximise the opportunity to take new products to market when they are launched
  • To take the initiative and be proactive in coming forward with innovative new sales ideas
